On Sunday 23 February 2025, the St Helen’s Association led by Katia Economou organised a BBQ lunch after the Meatfare Sunday liturgy at the Holy Cross and Archangel Michael Cathedral, Golders Green. Over 140 people attended the feast which was enjoyed by all who attended.

We received some great feedback on a well-organised event including ‘I wanted to thank you for the wonderful job you and your team did in organising the BBQ last Sunday. The food was great and it was nice to see multiple generations of people mixing together. It added greatly to have people of non-Greek origin attend. The grandchildren particularly loved the raffle’.

Thank you to Katia and her team for putting together this event. The souvlaki lunch was kindly sponsored by two anonymous donors which meant that the event raised over £3,700 for the church.

Thank you also to everyone who attended and we look forward to seeing you at future events.
