On the 14th of October 2022 we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our “Music at the Cathedral” concerts of classical music. With this concert, we also supported the Macular Society, a Society which strives to beat macular (eye) disease. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common condition, generally affecting people over the age of 55. AMD is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, affecting more than 600,000 people.
Concert goers enjoyed the music of the third quartet of P.I. Tchaikovsky and a quintet with piano of D.D. Shostakovich. It was great to see the performances of George Zacharias (violin 1), Viktoria Zora (violin 2), Alkistis Missoula (viola), Georgia Morse (cello) and Marios Panteliadis (piano).
A reception was held afterwards and our church would like to thank the anonymous donors who made this happen.
